While waiting to get inside and to give out an award, Salma Hayek had a good time reuniting with old friends, like Charlize Theron. Together, the two made a handsome couple.Meanwhile, the 45-year-old Salma Hayek showed off all her amazing curves as she took part in the Golden Globes for 2012.

Last month she admitted that as a little girl she had prayed to Jesus to give her a large chest.

And Salma Hayek’s prayers were answered as she has some of the most famous curves in the film industry.

Last night the 45-year-old actress was not afraid to show off her God-given gifts and poured her voluptuous figure into a tight purple dress, for a dinner date with friends.

Salma showed off shape in the bright dress which she had left unbuttoned to display her impressive cleavage.

The mother-of-one teamed the racy ensemble with a pair of peep toe patent heels and a matching clutch bag.

Salma was joining her Puss-in-boots co-star Antonio Banderas, 51, and his wife Melanie Griffith, 54, to enjoy a meal at Red O, a Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood.Antonio and Salma have been friends for years after staring in the 1995 film Desperado together.

Mexican-born Salma was recently given one of the highest honours in France and became a Knight, which led more than a few raised eyebrows.

President Nicolas Sarkozy announced that she will become a Chevalier – or Knight - of the Legion of Honour for her services to the French Republic.

Her father-in-law, another tycoon called Francois Pinault, has been made a Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour in the same list.

Referring to Mr Sarkozy possibly losing a presidential election in the Spring, political magazine Marianne ran the headline: "Last distribution of the gongs before leaving!"

Mocking Hayek with the Mexican exclamation 'Caramba!', it suggested that Mr Sarkozy's list of recipients was "another occasion to have fun". People reacted to it with everything from "surprise to anger". They included Henri Torre, the 78-year-old former minister and member of Mr Sarkozy's ruling UMP party, who turned down a Legion of Honour, saying: "Too many people were nominated who do not deserve to me honoured", adding that the awards had "lost their value". Numerous angry French people posted on the website of L'Express, saying Bonaparte would be "turning in his grave".

Knight of the Legion of Honour was created by the former Emperor in 1802 "to reward the men and women who have devoted themselves, sometimes to the death, to the nation", said another Express reader.

The magazine launched its own debate about the award asking "Why not Tintin and Milou?" - a reference to the cartoon boy journalist and his faithful dog.

L'Express said there was widespread bewilderment at a New Year's Honours list which also included Eric Charden and Annie "Stone" Gautrat – a pop singing duo dating back to the 60s and 70s.

Mr Sarkozy, who is married to the pop singer Carla Bruni, is well known for his love of Middle of the Road music, especially the kind performed by Gallic rocker Johnny Hallyday.

Others suggested that Mr Sarkozy was trying to "buy" popularity before this year's presidential elections, with one poster saying he had "put a big red nose on France". It follows similar criticism of the honours system in the UK, where Prime Minister David Cameron has been attacked for rewarding tycoon Gerald Ronson, who was jailed for his part in the Guinness share-trading scandal.

Hollywood stars have in fact received Legion of Honour gongs in the past in the past in France, but they have tended to be global superstars including Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Robert De Niro.

Hayek teamed up with Banderas for the first time back in 1995 when they starred in Desperado, which was directed by Robert Rodriguez.

And this week they team up again for Puss In Boots as Banderas returns as the popular feline hero.

But a new franchise calls for a new heroine and Hayek is it as she voices that character of Kitty Softpaws.

From Dusk Til Dawn remains a great watch ever now, fifteen years after it was released, and sees Hayek team up with the always lovely George Clooney.

And Clooney wasn't the only big name on the cast list as Harvey Keitel and Quentin Tarantino also starred.

The movie followed Two criminals and their hostages unknowingly seek temporary refuge in an establishment populated by vampires, with chaotic results.

Hayek swapped horror for comedy in 1997 as she teamed up with Friends star Matthew Perry for Fools Rush In.

The movie looks at the compromises and decisions that have to be made when trying to make a relationship work.

Ok so this is not the greatest movie that Hayek has ever made but there was great chemistry between the pair.

'We're going straight to the Wild Wild West' yes Hayek teamed up with Will Smith in 1999 for the Barry Sonnenfeld directed Wild Wild West.

Hayek took on the role of Rita Escobar who will stop at nothing to save her 'father' from the clutches of villain Loveless.

Smith and Kevin Kline are also out to stop the same man and battle hard for the affections of Rita.

Smith was his charismatic self in the movie and Hayek sizzles alongside him in scenes where they have some real chemistry - but Rita has a secret!

Hayek's finest moment came in 2003 when took on the role of artist Frida Kahlo in a biopic about her life.

Directed by Julie Taymor the movie followed her life story - including her work and her troubled marriage to Diego - played by Alfred Molina.

Both actors delivered superb performances as they really got under the skin of their characters and brought them to life.

It's a passionate, tender and tragic story with two terrific performances at it's core.

Adam Sandler

She returned to comedy last year with Grown Ups, which was one of the best movies in the genre in 2010.

The movie sees Hayek and Sandler as a married couple Lenny & Roxanne who meet up with old friends for a weekend.

This movie is laugh out loud funny as Sandler & Hayek are a perfect comedy pair - both with different ideas on money, life, friends and work.

Called Nuance, Salma Hayek's product line for hair, face, and body will be carried exclusively by the US drugstore chain CVS from this month.

Combining natural, Mexican-derived ingredients with her grandmother's beauty secrets, the collection hopes to "enhance the nuances that define every woman's individual beauty."

Skincare products are formulated with fruit extracts and essential oils to address concerns like aging, loss of hydration, and uneven tone and texture, while the haircare is designed to nourish, style and protect fine, dry and chemically treated hair. A full cosmetics range for face, eyes and lips as well as bodycare products are also part of the launch. Prices range between $2.99 and $19.99.

"I wanted to create a line of premium beauty products that were both effective and affordable using the ingredients and knowledge passed down to me from my grandmother," said Hayek. "My partnership with CVS/pharmacy allowed me to be truly involved in every aspect of product development, bringing my vision to life in making a line that is available to all women..."Hayek has made a point of wanting to create an affordable range in past interviews, so it doesn't come as a surprise that her distribution partner is CVS, not one of the luxury brands owned by her husband, PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault. Salma Hayek’s much anticipated skincare line, Nuance, has finally been launched and, naturally, I immediately bought the nothing if not affordable Renewing and Brightening Facial Serum ($19.99 for 1oz at CVS) and tried it out for the first time over the weekend.

The 44-year old actress says that the line is inspired by her grandmother and the Facial Serum makes a big feature out of licorice. Before Salma Hayek’s line was launched there was a flurry of speculation that the star of the show would be something called concha nacar (mother of pearl) and that the actress would be using it to make a “lightening cream”. But now that the Nuance serum has debuted, it doesn’t even have a bit part.

In fact, the lightening role looks to be the job of a stable form of kojic acid (the third ingredient listed – aminopropyl kojyl phosphate). Now kojic acid, typically used as a skin whitener, is somewhat controversial and is certainly a strong irritant or sensitizer. In 2008, the European Union concluded that “data support the conclusion, that skin penetration in rats and humans is considerable” and that “the use of kojic acid at a maximum concentration of 1.0% in skin care formulations poses a risk to the health of the consumer.”So at less than 1%, kojic acid may be relatively safe. However, the industry body, CIR says that at less than 1%, while safe, skin lightening wouldn’t be seen. I don’t know what the concentration is in Nuance, but I would assume that it is 1% or less. That’s good, but then am I to have low expectations for this product to work?

Despite my misgivings about kojic acid, I’m giving Nuance a try out on my neck. My skin seems a bit reaction-prone right now, so I am taking a cautious approach in case this serum irritates me.

Although the most dominant ingredient after water is unimpressively a thickening agent, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, I found the consistency of the Nuance Facial Serum to be a little on the thin side. Nor does it absorb very well, which tends to make the metal roller with which it is applied a bit redundant since I resorted to rubbing it in with my fingers.

There are a good number of decent botanicals in Nuance. I especially like omega 7 rich macadamia and mimosa (albizzia julibrissin) seems to have exciting possibilities as a free radical scavenger that is more potent than L-ascorbic acid. Probably the most impressive track record is held by cactus pear (opuntia), a cancer fighter that deploys an array of different antioxidants. Nuance also contains blue agave extract, but I’ve never been able to find much justification for its role in skincare. Licorice is supposed to play a key role in Nuance’s serum and it is certainly an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, although less convincing as a skin lightener.

Another interesting inclusion is hexanoyl dipeptide-3 (which is lecithin and norleucine acetate) activates skin cell regeneration by stimulating the natural desquamation process of the skin, leading to a gentle peeling.

There are, of course, the usual suspects in the preservative department (sodium hydroxide and phenoxyethanol) and undisclosed fragrance. The above mentioned thickener emollient (pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate) has way too big a role. But that may be how the price of Nuance Facial Serum is kept at such a keen level. And for something that is under twenty bucks, I think the formulation is, on the face of it, pretty good. Now I just hope that my skin can cope with the kojic acid. I’ll report back in a while.

20 Mei, 2011 - MANILA, Philippines - Photos of a beaming Charice with Hollywood superstars Salma Hayek and Kevin James have been posted on the Internet.

Caughtonset.com carried several pictures of the 19-year-old Filipino international singing sensation and her co-stars on the set of "Here Comes The Boom."

The photos were shot outside Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston where the cast members shot scenes on May 13, the website said.

"Here Comes The Boom" is Charice's second Hollywood film.

In the film, the "Pyramid" singer will play Malia.

Charice was part of 20th Century Fox's live-action animation film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel."

Directed by Frank Coraci ("Click" and "The Wedding Singer"), "Here Comes The Boom" tells the story of a music teacher who will do everything to keep the school music program running.

The film will be screened in 2012, reports said.

In her previous interview, Charice, dubbed as the rising Asian pop star, said she yearns to appear in a horror film.

Salma Hayek made a flamboyant start to the Cannes Film Festival today in an eye-catching dress.

The Mexican actress was the centre of attention in her wacky Gucci dress at a photocall to promote her new film Puss In Boots with co-star Antonio Banderas.

The 44-year-old was wearing a strapless burnt orange leather dress and matching floral bolero from the label's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.

Hayek is a big fan of the Italian label, but her decision to wear the unusual ensemble is also helping the family business - her billionaire husband François-Henri Pinault is the CEO of PPR, the company who owns Gucci.

Despite her tight-fitting dress and killer platform heels, Hayek managed to climb up on a pair of giant boots, which had been placed at the end of the pier on Carlton Beach.

Mexican actress, director and producer Salma Hayek's first beauty line, which is set to launch at 7,000 CVS Pharmacy stores nationwide from August, is expected to make $35 million in its first year alone.

The star has taken the past three years off from acting to focus on the development of the 100-product range of cosmetics, called Nuance Salma Hayek.

The range, which comprises everything from make-up to anti-ageing skincare, also includes some rather less predictable products, such as a Correcting Spot Treatment 10perdent Sulfur Acne Treatment.

But though the range will have a budget price point (from $7.99-$19.99) the formulations, the Frida star said, will rival anything at the top of the market.

"It is possible to create extraordinary product for a low price. Everyone should have the right product at the right price," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying at an event to launch the line Thursday.
"A lot of products don't even cost a lot to make. I wanted to make simply the best product and give everyone access to the good stuff," she said.

The mother-of-one, who is married to PPR boss Francois-Henri Pinault, said that her grandmother, a cosmetologist who was an advocate of native American and Mayan formulations, inspired the line.

Salma’s career is blossoming in America and Europe, and Variety has now revealed that she has teamed up with French actor Mathieu Demy – son of acclaimed directors Agnès Varda and Jacques Demy – for Mathieu’s directorial debut.

Salma stars as a dancer at a private club called Americano, while actor-turned-director Mathieu plays her childhood friend, with the movie dealing with them being reunited.

Paris-based company Bac Films have taken international rights to the picture outside of France. Americano was originally set to be an auteur movie, although Mathieu Robinet of Bac Films says it then becomes a road movie, and then picks up surreal tones.The 64th Cannes International Film Festival is now in full swing, so many more important movie announcements can be expected before it ends on May 22.

The prestigious event began yesterday with a screening of Woody Allen’s new romantic comedy Midnight in Paris.

Acclaimed Italian moviemaker Bernardo Bertolucci declared the festival open as he cut the ribbon. The director is best known for work such as Last Tango in Paris and The Last Emperor, and last night was presented with a Palme d'Honneur for his lifetime achievement in film.

It’s always said that when it comes to breaking into the film industry, it’s not what you know, but who you know, and it’s hard to deny that nepotism is rife in the industry. But when it’s meant that talents like Sofia Coppola, Nicolas Cage, Peter Fonda, Drew Barrymore, John Huston and, uh, Clint Howard, to name but a few, it’s hard to complain too much. Today we’ve obtained an exclusive first image of a project that utilizes a number of members of famous filmmaking families, and it’s looking pretty promising.

Actor Mathieu Demy comes from famous filmmaking stock, being the son of French filmmaking giants Agnes Varda and Jacques Demy, and he’s already racked up an impressive career in front of the camera, in films like “God is Great, But I’m Not,” “Aram” and “The Girl On The Train.” Now, according to a press release from BAC Films International, who’ve picked up all of the worldwide rights to the project, he’s made his directorial debut, on a self-penned project entitled “Americano,” and he’s attracted fellow filmmaking family members to the cast like Chiara Mastroianni, daughter of Marcello Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve, Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of Charlie Chaplin and Carlos Bardem, the older brother of Javier Bardem. But the film will be toplined by Demy himself, opposite international star Salma Hayek. Demy will play Martin, a man grieving from the death of his mother, and escaping a failing relationship, who returns to Los Angeles, where he grew up, to sort out his inheritance. Troubled by childhood memories, he goes off to track down Lola, a Mexican woman (Hayek) who he knew in childhood, eventually finding her down at the Americano club in Tijuana, where she works as a stripper. Mastroianni will play Martin’s ex-girlfriend, while Chaplin will play an old friend of the family who kicks off his quest.

Demy comments in the press release “”Americano” is a film I have been working on for years. I wanted to tackle a theme that directly relates to my history, my identity: transmission. What do you inherit from your parents? How do you deal with it? And how do you write your own story?” And it seems like he’s using the unique advantages of his own upbringing: “I used footage from one of my mother’s film, “Documenteur”, where she filmed me when I was 8 and was living with her in LA. Those images find a special echo in the film, and question our relationship to fiction and reality. But I also wanted to do a universal film, that will travel and please all type of audiences. That is why I decided to gather a very special cast, whom I must thank for their support and their faith in the project.”

The film’s now in post-production, having recently wrapped its multi-lingual, globe-spanning shoot—it lensed in Paris, L.A. and Tijuana, and will be in French, English and Spanish—and should apparently be ready for the festival season in the fall, so a bow in Toronto or Venice wouldn’t be out of the question. Les Films du Losange will distribute in France, and BAC Films will be the sales agent. It all sounds fairly intriguing, and Demy’s parentage alone is reason enough to make us very, very curious about what he’s come up with.

The color is fantastic and I love her choice of a simple ponytail (how many regular moms employ that same hairstyle?), but I’m not so sure about the leather dress and the flowery bolero.

Salma hit the red carpet for Puss in Boots in the Gucci dress, showing off her gorgeous curves, but I think I’d like it in a different fabric. I’d also love to see it without the flowers on top – maybe something with a little less poof to it.

I'll admit that I really liked the addition of Puss in Boots in Shrek 2, but I'm not so sure about an entire movie devoted to the guy.

Plus, if the trailer is any indication (and I hope for everyone's sake that it isn't because you know this movie will make millions) his feature film, aptly titled Puss in Boots, doesn't look to have the wit and charm of the original Shrek or its first sequel.

I does however have Zach Galifianakis and Salma Hayek, so there's that. Here's our first look at one of the new characters, Kitty Softpaws (Hayek), and she looks to be stealing Puss' boots. But then, what will his last name be? (Because it's totally "in Boots," duh.) I'm also not sure where Kitty's name came from. They're either trying to make a G-rated reference to Goldfinger's cheekily-named Pussy Galore or they threw a bunch of cat-related words in a hat and pulled out those three. Either way, she's a cute little cat with a sexy voice, which is kind of weird.

Hermès hosted a large party for the opening of their new store in Paris and invited Salma Hayek.

Normally this wouldn’t mean anything, since Hayek gets invited to lots of fancy, stylish parties, but in this case it does because she’s the wife of François-Henri Pinault, the owner of luxury holding company PPR, who famously thwarted LVMH’s attempted takeover of Gucci in 1999 and is widely viewed as LVMH’s main competitor in the international luxury business.

Ever since LVMH sneakily purchased 17.1 percent of Hermès’s stocks last month and seemed poised for a hostile takeover, the Hermès family has loudly protested their presence, accusing LVMH of not being “friendly” and demanding their withdrawal from the family-owned company.

Of course, no one at the party would admit that Hayek was being used as a busty, Gucci-clad pawn in Hermès’s anti-LVMH campaign, particularly Hayek herself. "I don't know about investment; I know about shopping," she told WWD coyly. Hermès CEO Patrick Thomas, who posed for lots of pictures with Hayek, insisted that there was “no message” about her being there, but WWD seemed to detect some sarcasm from Bertrand Peuch when he “deadpanned” that she was just a guest.

The fourty-four year-old was as beautiful on the red carpet as she is on the big screen. Hayek's career is usually defined by more dramatic roles, including her Oscar-nominated portrayal of artist Frida Kahlo in the biopic Frida. Yet, these days, she seems to be on a comedy roll.

The 43-year-old takes another leap into the humour pool co-starring in Adam Sandler's Grown Ups, which opens on Friday, and features Sandler's Saturday Night Live buddies who never let a serious moment get in the way of a good ad lib.

In the Dennis Dugan-directed comedy, Sandler plays a successful talent agent while Hayek defines his work-obsessed, clothes designer wife. Salma Hayek may soon need rehabilitation for an addiction.

The actress, who gave birth to daughter Valentina in 2007, says she can't stop breastfeeding.

She said: "I'm like an alcoholic. It is like, I don't care if I cry, I don't care if I am fat, I am just going to do it for one more week, one more month, and then when I see how much good it is doing her and I can't stop."

The 42-year-old also said breastfeeding does not helps mothers shed post-pregnancy weight.

She told Style magazine: "The myth that says you lose all this weight when you breastfeed! That is so not true! It's like, please, will everyone stop telling me I look really well."
